Terms of Service
Last updated 19 September 2026
The short version. Pett keeps your pet's records. It is not veterinary advice, and its reminders are not a substitute for your own attention. Care+ is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple, which you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.
These terms are an agreement between you and Hlib Albovskyi, an individual carrying on business in British Columbia, Canada, under the name Pett ("I" and "me" below). By using Pett you accept them. Pett is made by one person; if anything here is unclear, email support@getpett.app and you will reach me directly.
Your licence to use the Pett app itself is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to it. If the two disagree about the licence to the app, Apple's agreement wins.
Your account
You need an account to use Pett. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password.
- You must be 13 or older. Pett is not directed at children under 13.
- Use an email address you can actually receive mail at, because account recovery depends on it.
- Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. They control your account, including deleting it.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a Care+ subscription; cancel that separately in your Apple Account settings. What deletion removes, and what it leaves behind, is set out in the privacy policy.
What Pett is, and what it is not
Pett is a record-keeping app. It stores what you choose to write down about your pets and shows it back to you.
Pett does not give veterinary advice. Nothing in the app is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for a veterinarian. Decisions about your pet's health are between you and your vet. If your pet may be unwell or in distress, contact a vet rather than the app.
Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. Medication and care reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS. They can be delayed or missed if notifications are turned off, if the device is off or out of battery, or if iOS defers them. Do not rely on Pett alone for a dose that matters.
Your records are your responsibility. Your data lives on your device and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud. We hold no copy and cannot restore anything for you. Keeping iCloud sync on is the practical way to avoid losing records if a device is lost or replaced.
Your content
Everything you put into Pett stays yours. We claim no ownership of your pets' records, your photos, or your documents, and we do not read them. How the app handles that data is described in the privacy policy.
Care+ subscription
Pett is free to use for one pet. Care+ is a paid subscription that adds:
- Unlimited active pets
- Health PDF export
Care+ is offered as a monthly or a yearly plan. The current price is shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.
Billing and renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it.
- Apple charges the renewal up to 24 hours before the current period ends. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancel or change your plan in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; the period you have already paid for runs to its end.
- Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
Refunds
Payment for Care+ goes through Apple, so App Store refund requests are handled by Apple. Ask through Apple's Report a Problem page or Apple Support. I cannot approve or reverse a charge inside Apple's payment system.
Apple's process does not take away any cancellation, refund or other remedy the law gives you against me or against Apple. If something has gone wrong with Pett, or you want to exercise a legal right against me, email support@getpett.app and I will deal with it.
Some consumer laws, including British Columbia's, let you cancel a subscription after it has renewed and be refunded for the part of the period you have not used. Where that applies to you, the right stands. Ask Apple first; if Apple declines, email me and I will arrange the refund.
Price and plan changes
If the price of your plan goes up, Apple tells you before it takes effect. Depending on the size of the increase and where you live, Apple either asks you to agree to the new price or applies it at the next renewal unless you cancel first. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before the renewal it applies to. If what Care+ includes changes, I tell you before the change takes effect, and it does not shorten or reduce a period you have already paid for.
If you stop paying
When Care+ ends, nothing is deleted. Your records stay on your device and in your iCloud, and the free limits apply again: one active pet, and no new Health PDF exports. Choosing which pet stays active is yours.
Using Pett reasonably
Do not try to break into other people's accounts, interfere with the app's operation or the services it depends on, or use Pett to do something illegal.
Changes to the app
Pett is actively developed, so features are added, changed, and occasionally removed. If something you rely on is going away, the release notes will say so. Your data remains yours: a full export of your records, documents and photos is available to every user from Settings, whether or not you subscribe to Care+.
Disclaimers and liability
Pett is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for lost or corrupted records, for missed reminders, or for decisions made about a pet's health on the basis of what the app showed, and my total liability to you for any claim connected with Pett is limited to what you have paid for Care+ in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded, or takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Pett at any time by deleting your account and the app. I may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to break the law.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page is updated and the date above changes with it. For a change that affects what you get or what you have agreed to, I tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Pett after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using Pett and cancel any subscription.
Governing law
Except as set out below for Quebec, these terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. If you live in Quebec, these terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
The courts of British Columbia have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about these terms. None of this takes away consumer rights you hold where you live, including under British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act. You can bring a claim in your own local courts where the law gives you that right, and nothing here stops you complaining to a regulator.
